What's that sound you ask? That's the sound of Mothers all over the world sighing with relief that the first day of school is upon us! Don't get me wrong, the thought of rushed evening, fighting over homework and a strict schedule make me want to run screaming. BUT I don't care who you are...you can't deny the excitement of a few short hours of peace and quiet! Hey, my kids may even get along for five minutes once they are no longer stuck together 24/7.
What shall I do with free time.................ooops, I had to go look up the definition of that term since it's been ooooh, I don't know...something like 9years, 3 months and 9 days since I have had that but hey, who's counting :)
This is my short list of things that I look forward to doing once the kids go back to school:
1. turn the t.v. off...I am so tired of hearing it!
2. finish a cup of coffee
3. start and stick to an exercise routine
4. clean my car..in preparation for #5
5. take a LARGE load of toys that no one wants to part with but no one ever plays with to the Good Will..my guess is that they will never even notice.
I should end this list here or I will get overwhelmed and that just ruins the excitement of back to school darn it!
So to all the haters out there gasping in horror that I blogged about booting my kids out the door with a smile on my face, listen up! It makes me sad to send my kids off to a new environment and not be there for every little emotion that they may feel while we are apart but guess what... I don't plan on going to college with them..or work for that matter so wipe your tears and enjoy your brief moments of silence for 3pm comes fast and it's all downhill from there!
